The Fool on his life journey must now confront his own demons. His desires and his burdens. The Fool learns that short term pleasures can often hinder long term goals. His own desires chain him and restrict his spiritual growth.
The Devil card shows a naked man and woman trapped seemingly against their will. However it is their own chains that are binding them and holding them back. It is their own desires, cravings and vanity that hold them captive. They could easily set themselves free with a little effort. The Devil shows the pair freedom but their obsessive stubbornness keeps them chained. The card warns of obsessions, addictions and fanaticism. We are also warned against our own negative thinking and our refusal to leave a bad situation.
The 17th November daily tarot card reading, The Devil comes when we are feeling trapped often by a situation that we have made for ourselves. We may be trapped in a bad relationship or held in a job that we hate. Our fears of being alone or losing material wealth are holding us back. Break the cycle of drudgery. Throw off your chains and dare to focus on your goals.

A couple of powerful cards two days in a row. In yesterday’s reading Daily tarot card reading 16th November 2020 The Hierophant told us to break the mould and dare to do something different. To break free of conventional thinking. Today’s card, The Devil, advises us to think clearly and avoid our petty obsessions. To break free of the fear of losing our attachments. Our comforts and our ‘needs’ are holding us back. I feel that is time to let go of our current way of thinking, analyse what is truly holding us back and take steps to break free.
